Jeremy Renner was born on January 7, 1971, in Modesto, California, to Valerie Cearley, a waitress, and Lee Renner, who managed McDonald’s restaurants. He is the oldest of seven children—five brothers and two sisters. His parents divorced when he was ten. Renner is of German, English, Scottish, Swedish, Irish, and Panamanian descent.
